Loading and unloading

All trailers are designed to ensure that the entire transportation process is smooth, efficient, safe and stress free.

Maintaining the pig’s health and protecting them against infection during transport are cornerstones in the Danish SPF-system.

Prior to the arrival of the Move Your Brand trailer all pigs are directed from the stable into the delivery room to avoid any contamination from the pigs on the truck.

After the driver has reversed the truck up to the loading ramp, he puts on a clean overall and thereafter clean boots, which are available in a disinfected area of the stable.

The driver receives bedding material from the stable to spread out in the trailer. The driver directs the pigs onto the first deck which is then lifted up. As there are 3 or 4 decks, this step is repeated until all decks are loaded.

The driver acknowledges receiving the pigs on a delivery note. If the load contains any breeding pigs their individual data (number, date of birth, quality of breed etc.) is written on the delivery note. If the load contains piglets the amount and total weight is written on the delivery note, as the vehicles are fitted with weighing equipment.

On arrival, the driver once again puts on the same overall, he used at the time of loading. These clothes have been kept in the storage compartment for “clothes in use”. When the lift is laid down on the receiving ramp the pigs are lifted down on the decks and guided out of the trailer.

The recipient guides them into the stables as the driver is not allowed in.

After unloading, the recipient acknowledges the receipt on the delivery note.
